DIY Deodorant That’s Aluminum-Free, Lavender-Infused, and Slightly Cursed
DIY Deodorant That’s Aluminum-Free, Lavender-Infused, and Slightly Cursed.
Somewhere between capitalism, body odor, and a distrust of ingredients I can’t pronounce, I decided to start making my own deodorant. Is it witchy? Yes. Does it smell like self-sufficiency and herbal sass? Also yes. Welcome to the underworld of natural body care. This one’s for the haunted homemakers and soft goth survivalists.

🕵️♀️ What We’re Making:
A natural, effective deodorant (non antiperspirant) that fights odor, keeps you fresh, and channels lavender-infused calm with a whisper of menace. Optional: apply by candlelight while softly muttering incantations.
🌿 Ingredients:
1.5 tbsp coconut oil
1 tbsp beeswax
.5 tbsp shea butter
.5 oz. magnesium hydroxide
10 drops lavender essential oil
10 drops tea tree or lemongrass oil
💪 Why I Use This Recipe:
Simple, effective, and low-key apothecary vibes. Beeswax for stiffness. Coconut oil and magnesium hydroxide brings the antibacterial energy. Lavender and tea tree? They're nature’s deodorant and exorcist duo.
⚗️ Instructions:
Melt coconut oil, shae butter, and beeswax until liquid (double boiler or microwave).
Mix in magnesium hydroxide until smooth.
Add essential oils. Stir gently like you’re blending secrets.
Pour into a small jar or tube. Let cool and solidify.
Apply with clean fingers or straight from the tube per usual.
🧠 Tips from Mrs. Silent Hill:
Store in a cool, dark place (like your soul).
For bonus creep factor: store in a vintage silver container labeled 'Protection Potion.'
